Dachshund, Smooth (Standard)

The dachshund is courageous, hardy and curious. Their long, low, muscular body was bred for tunneling into the badger den so expect them to enjoy digging, tracking by scent and going to ground after game. The longhaired variety is generally calmer and gentler, the wirehaired variety more headstrong and independent.
