Energy Level

ACTIVITY LEVEL

Activity level refers to the amount of energy a dog, has combined with it's need for work, or mental stimulation Note that even breeds that have low energy levels as adults will have higher energy levels as puppies.

"Laid Back/Very Laid Back" dogs do not demand much in the way of activizing, they are generally happy with what they get. Do remember that all breeds do enjoy using their head, and most are more content when allowed to do so, even if it's as simple as playing a game of hide and seek.

"Moderate" dogs, appreciate regular mental workouts, but do not demand them on a daily basis.

An "Active" is a dog which has a acitivity high level. Physical Excersize is not sufficient, they must regularly have mental stimulation as well. Agility, tracking or obedience are good activities.

A "Very Active dog" is a dog which has an extremely high activity level. Physical Excersize is not sufficient They must have mental stimulation as well, lots of it, and every day. Often these dogs have a very strong desire to do what they were originally bred for. These are the dogs that live to work.
